In this section when we refer to a "portrait" we mean a painting of a person or persons, pets, cars, homes, places, in fact anything that is in a photograph.

Portraits used to be only for the rich. You have seen those stately homes with portraits of the Lords of the house, working their way up the winding staircase.

But now "Portraits of You" have brought oil painted portraits into the reach of everyone. Yours may not turn out to be as famous as the "Self Portrait" by Van Gogh, but it will be far more important to you.

There are a number of advantages to our portraits being copied from a photograph.

• That Special Moment caught on camera. A smile, a certain look, a glint in the eye, something that makes a favourite photograph special.
• A moment from years ago. The photograph may be a bit damaged, folded or "dog eared" - those blemises to the photograph can disappear in the painting.
• A Special Moment at the wrong time. A special photograph, but your child was covered in spots, had a cut on his nose or whatever. Those blemises to the subject can vanish with the magic of a paint brush.

The cost of a portrait starts at £75 plus postage, but again the cost depends on a number of factors - is it just a head and shoulders, or is it more than one person - is it a detailed background, and what size of painting do you want.

Our portraits come in the following sizes - 12"x16", 16"x20", 20"x24", 24"x28", 24"x28", 24"x36" and 36"x48".

So all you need to do is click here and fill in the "Get a Price" form. Attach a copy of the photograph and the size of painting that you want. We will then get a quote back to you as soon as we can (normally within 24 hours).

 

However if you are unable to supply a Digital copy you can send us the actual photograph, we would send you a quotation upon receipt.
